Milan Township Zoning

The Zoning Department is responsible for all zoning issues in the Township. All building and building expansion, as well as changes in land use, require advance approval by the Zoning Inspector, Patrick Landoll, who is available by appointment at 1518 St. Rt 113E. The office may be reached by phone at 419-499-2354.

The Township also has two Zoning Boards which meet on an as-needed basis. The Board of Appeals convenes in response to appeals by citizens for variances and conditional uses. The Zoning Commission considers requests for changes to the Zoning Resolution, which is the governing document for all Township zoning issues. The Township is aware of the need to modify the Resolution in response to community land use needs and the Commission holds hearings on such issues as appropriate.

Residents are encouraged to contact the office to determine if any recent changes might impact a project prior to submitting a zoning permit application.
