The department is responsible for
- clearing and maintaining approximately 24.5 miles of Township roads;
- maintaining and improving Edison Park, a property wholly owned by the Township;
- maintaining the historic Milan Township Hall, the comfort station adjacent to it, and the Township offices at 1518 St. Rt. 113E.
Maintenance Team
Maintenance involving roads, buildings, and parks are managed by 2 full-time employees with additional seasonal help. Day-to-day maintenance is under the supervision of Matt Hudson, assisted by Dave Fox.
Our full-time employees are available from 7:00am-3:00pm Monday through Friday. Our personnel are generally out of the office during work hours, but messages may be left at 567-401-6014 for notices, requests, and questions.

Roadways
The Township owns and maintains approximately 24.5 miles of roads. Snow clearance and salting is a major element of the road program during winter months. During non-winter months, keeping up with drainage issues and the maintenance of catch basins occupy a substantial expenditure of resources.
Major equipment include:
- 2 road plows
- 1 smaller plow for subdivisions
- 1 utility truck
- 1 backhoe
Parks
The Township is proud to offer Edison Park as a centerpiece of community recreation. Edison Park’s amenities consist of two park pavilions, a baseball diamond, tennis courts, a skateboard park and a sand volleyball park provide variety for many recreational interests.
The park pavilions are often in high demand during the summer months, so families/groups are urged to reserve time well in advance by calling 419-499-2354.
Buildings


Located at 1518 State Route 113 East, the Milan Township Office serves as the administrative hub for township operations. This facility houses the day-to-day functions of township government, including road maintenance coordination, park management, and public inquiries. Although staffed by full-time personnel, office hours are primarily used to support fieldwork across roads, parks, and public properties. Community members can contact the office at 567-401-6014 for maintenance requests, brush drop-off appointments, or general township information.
The Milan Town Hall, a cherished historic landmark nestled in the heart of the township, embodies our rich local heritage and civic pride. Beyond its historical significance, the building serves as a vibrant hub for community engagement, hosting public meetings and various local events. Our dedicated Maintenance Team ensures the preservation and upkeep of this iconic site, maintaining its status as a welcoming and functional asset for all.
